Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (“HKAM”) was established by the HKAM Ordinance (Cap 419) in 1993. HKAM is an independent institution with statutory power to organize, monitor, assess and accredit all medical and dental specialist training in Hong Kong. It also provides and accredits continuing medical education and continuous professional development for the purpose of specialist registration. HKAM now recruits the following staff.
Director, Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence
Main Responsibilities:
Lead the execution of the Board’s strategic plans, proposals, policies and guidelines to achieve the missions and goals of IMACE.
Oversee the Institute’s allocation of resources, including budgets, staff and facilities to ensure good governance, efficient and effective functioning of the Secretariat.
Professional oversight of clinical guidelines development, healthcare quality assurance and compliance with the regulatory environment.
Lead to facilitate the prioritisation, formulation and dissemination of evidence-based clinical guidelines / protocols, service quality and efficiency standards for the sector.
Collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders to drive the Institute’s mission forward and advocate public engagement for building public awareness and understanding of the protocols promulgated by IMACE.
Work closely and undertake any other duties commensurate with the position as assigned by the IMACE or the Academy.
Requirements:
A registered medical practitioner holding a valid annual practicing certificate issued by the Medical Council of Hong Kong.
Fellowship of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (FHKAM) is preferred.
Extensive clinical experience and professional standing within the medical community.
Demonstrated leadership experience in healthcare, academic medicine, professional organisations, or healthcare administration.
Strong understanding of evidence-based medicine, clinical guidelines development, and healthcare quality improvement.
Excellent strategic planning, organisational leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong communication and public engagement abilities.
