Project Officer, HKIFF Industry
Responsibilities:
1. To assist Project Manager, HKIFF Industry, on the general management of the department’s events such as Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum and Film Lab in all aspects including but not limited to:
Publication
- Source vendors and editors to design, compile and print the publications
- Coordinate with and supervise editors and printing houses to compile the publications
- Liaise with advisors, filmmakers, partners, and industry players to prepare for the publications
- To perform writing and editing duties on publication materials
- Proofread the materials to ensure the information of the publications is accurate
- Prepare the production, printing and delivery timelines and ensure a smooth workflowMarketing and Event
- To draft, prepare and design marketing and promotional items such as EDMs, leaflets, factsheets, etc.
- To monitor various social media platforms and update the information for the team if and when necessary
- To liaise with service provider on event floor plan, wall panels design and construction, and technical support
- To liaise with filmmakers and partners on the arrangement of presentation sessions, luncheons, seminars, and awards ceremony, etc.
- To conduct event planning and budget planning and control
- To maintain a professional and updated database for promotional purposeProject submission and guest registration systems
- To coordinate with vendors to update the existing online project submission system and guest registration system
- To assist in the project vetting procedures including preparation and filing of film project submissions, sending submission materials to the vetting committee for vetting
- To ensure a smooth protocol and business-matching arrangements of guests
2. To invite and liaise with filmmakers, advisors, potential investors and financiers regarding HKIFF Industry’s events from time to time;
3. To assist in developing and maintaining international partnerships for HKIFF Industry;
4. To conduct research, prepare usable and accurate reports and analyses to management from time to time;
5. To handle all necessary administrative documentation required by the Society; and
6. To perform other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or management of the Society.
Requirements:
University graduate or equivalent
Minimum 3 years’ working experience
Experience with film industry is an advantage
Excellent inter-personal, communication and presentation skills
Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua, knowledge of other languages will be an advantage
Proficiency of PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent command of design softwares such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Good knowledge of editing softwares such as Final Cut Pro and Premiere is an advantage
Good knowledge of the international film industry, in particular Asia, and good acquaintance with film industry professionals is an advantage
Ability to work under pressure, independently, proactively and to meet deadlines
Required to work overtime and at irregular hours including full-day work on weekends and public holidays during peak season.
