The Insurance Authority (IA) is the independent statutory body whose principal function is to regulate and supervise the Hong Kong insurance industry to promote its stable development and to protect existing and potential policy holders.

IA now invites applications for the following position:
Manager (Policy and Legislation)
Reporting to the Senior Manager (Section Head), Policy and Development, the incumbent will undertake the following:
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise and coordinate with industry stakeholders, the Government and other financial regulators for policy formulation and market development on the supervision and promotion of InsurTech
Identify emerging technology-related risks and conduct research on technology trends regularly
Manage and keep track of progress on major Insurtech projects and initiatives
Provide input to technical supervisory matters related to InsurTech including cybersecurity
Provide support and prepare briefing materials for the Insurtech Facilitation Team in participating in or organizing various events, as well as liaising with counterparts and other external parties
Promote the adoption of technology and drive innovation in the insurance sector
Formulate regulatory guidelines for the adoption of technology including artificial intelligence
Perform other duties as assigned by senior management to facilitate the administration of the statutory functions of the IA
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, risk management, laws, business studies, economics, communication, public administration or related disciplines
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in insurance, risk management, financial services, public administration and/or related fields
Experience in Fintech, Insurtech and policy development is an advantage
Cyber Security related certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA) will be an advantage
Good understanding of the insurance industry and global financial markets is an advantage
Self-driven with strong motivation, leadership, analytical ability and interpersonal skills
Capable of operating effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese
Remuneration Package
A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications will be offered.

Assistant Manager / Analyst (Non-life Business) (12-month Contract)
Reporting to the Senior Manager / Manager, the incumbent will undertake the following:
Key Responsibilities:
Perform prudential supervision of authorized non-life insurers
Participate in conducting inspection and monitoring non-life insurers' compliance with regulatory requirements
Support initiatives to promote the non-life insurance market of Hong Kong
Perform other duties as assigned by senior management to facilitate the administration of the statutory functions of IA
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics or actuarial science or related disciplines with strong academic background. Qualified CPA or actuary is recommended.
Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience in insurance, finance, accounting or regulatory fields. Work experience in a local or overseas insurance regulatory agency or non-life actuarial practices is preferred. Applicants with less than 3 years’ relevant work experience may be considered for the Analyst post.
Knowledge of the local regulatory requirements, insurance products, industry practices and market dynamics relating to the insurance business
Strong problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and able to work in a team in a collaborative environment
Able to work independently and under pressure
Strong command of English and good command of Chinese
Remuneration Package
