Head, Nano Material and Smart Processing Technology

Smart Manufacturing Division

What you'll do:

  • Identify market demands on novel material applications using innovative and advanced technologies such as Nano Material, Functional Material, Microelectronic, surface finishing, Nanofabrication, Smart Manufacturing Technology, etc.  Determine and prioritize potential service offerings which can be deployed by the Council for the benefits of Hong Kong industries.

  • Formulate, drive and execute the strategies on innovative solutions with appropriate technologies and systems in line with the mission and goals of HKPC and the Division. Develop relevant business offering portfolio and roadmap for sustainable business development

  • Provide professional technical solutions to assist the clients, including associations and enterprises, to upgrade their business, service and production operations through the application of innovative and advanced technologies, such as Nano Material, Functional Material, Microelectronic, surface finishing, Nanofabrication, Smart Manufacturing Technology, etc

  • Lead the team to identify and acquire consultancy projects from private companies or government bodies. Develop government funding proposals including but not limited to Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF), New Industrialisation Funding Scheme(NIFS), Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund(TSF),etc. 

  • Lead the team to successfully implement projects within schedule and budget and meet all financial and non-financial key performance indicators

  • Able to build network and establish cooperation with local industries, trade associations, R&D centres and universities

  • Travel to the Chinese Mainland or overseas to carry out projects

You'll be a good fit if you have/are:

  • Bachelor Degree or above from engineering disciplines such as Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or equivalent

  • 15 years' or more working experience, and at least 8 years' experience in management positions

  • Proven track records in technical solution development, innovation development, or business development

  • Rich experience in execution and management of complex projects involving applications development, technical promotion, client management, events planning and management, etc.

  • Good relationship with industries, universities and R&D Centre

  • Team Leadership and Project Development

You'll be a good fit if you have/are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Event Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • A highly experienced event professional with a minimum of 10 years in corporate events, exhibitions, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong project management capabilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to apply analytical and creative thinking to overcome challenges and adapt to unexpected changes during event execution.

Postdoctoral Researcher, Engineering

  • Conduct R&D works in any of the following expertise: - 

    • Automation equipment, IoT devices, and optical inspection equipment

    • Development of nanomaterial related to electrospinning nanofiber, Li-ion battery and relevant material characterization, etc.

  • Conduct design, development and evaluation for R&D project delivery
