Lecturer in Bioinformatics in the School of Biomedical Sciences
Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in Bioinformatics in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 537614), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, biomedical data science, or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Excellent motivation in teaching and learning should be demonstrated in teaching bioinformatics and related disciplines. The appointee will contribute to the bioinformatics, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, medicine, nursing and pharmacy undergraduateand postgraduate programmes. Applicants should also have strong communication and organisational skills, the ability to work independently and as a team, and be able to multitask.
The appointee will be responsible for teaching, conducting tutorials and demonstrations, supporting curriculum design, and developing teaching materials. He/She will work closely with a team of colleagues dedicated to the development and delivery of innovative pedagogical approaches to improve student learning across the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salary tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.

Senior IT Assistant
Senior IT Assistant in the School of Nursing (Ref.: 537570) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with a contract-end gratuity and University contributions to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with preferably at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience. Experience in a tertiary institution or the education sector would be an advantage. They should have sound knowledge of Microsoft Windows, macOS and Office applications, as well as experience in helpdesk support, photography and videography. Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility are essential. Solid experience in web application development using CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, ASP.NET, PL/SQL and HTML5 is required. Competence in troubleshooting and maintaining computers and AV equipment would be advantageous. They should also be a good team player, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
The appointee will provide IT technical support, photography, videography and audiovisual assistance for various academic programmes, events and workshops; assist with venue setup; troubleshoot and maintain computing and AV facilities; provide technical support to staff members; and perform other duties as assigned. He/She may occasionally be required to work on weekends.

HKU-CTC’s Phase 1 Clinical Trials Unit (Phase 1 Unit) is a professional clinical trials facility located in the Queen Mary Hospital and dedicated to conducting phase 1 and early phase clinical trials in a clinical setting. The Phase 1 Unit is seeking talents who have the passion in promoting healthcare advancement through practising clinical research.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and reception support for daily unit operations;
Coordinate equipment and facility maintenance;
Assist with petty cash, allowances, invoice processing, and payment verification;
Support staff roster management and inventory control; and
Assist in vendor evaluation and procurement to support clinical operations.
Requirements:
Completed Form 5 or above;
Extensive administrative experience, preferably in a clinical setting;
Familiarity with ward and clinical operations is preferred;
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows;
Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities;
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player; and
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on 2-year fixed-term basis or a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
