Assistant Registrar

Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Registrar in the Division of Community Medicine and Public Health Practice, School of Public Health (Ref.: 532909), to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary term or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, with relevant academic and professional training related to the areas of duties and/or recognized professional qualifications, plus at least 8 years of senior management position experience in a public/quasi-public organization or a related sector, preferably with a higher degree. He/She should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), be mature and meticulous, self-motivated, and a good team player with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to work on their own initiative. Applicant should possess strong leadership, communication and presentation skills, excellent multi-tasking and project management skills, especially in project administration and publicity management. Commitment to quality and results, excellent time management and problem-solving skills, professional work attitude and a high level of computer literacy are essential qualities for the post. Applicant who is familiar with managing projects funded by public organizations and experienced in meeting with advisory boards of public organization and senior Government officers would be an advantage.
The appointee will lead and oversee a territory-wide community health research project, with the aim to advance primary healthcare services and promote public health and wellbeing in Hong Kong. He/She will maintain close communication and liaison with stakeholders; manage the communications team; oversee and manage publicity events and engagements; manage and promote knowledge dissemination and exchange; coordinate with NGO partners, the Government, and other key stakeholders project management. The appointee will also take the lead in the project administration, including human resources management and recruitment; planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling finance and budgets; daily office administration and office relocation; compiling progress reports to Principal Investigator and subsidizers regularly; and perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Administrative Assistant I/II (holding a functional title of Senior Project Manager/ Project Manager) in the Division of Community Medicine and Public Health Practice, School of Public Health (Ref.: 533103) (to commence as soon as possible for a one-year temporary term or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably a master’s degree, with at least 8 years’ full-time work experience in administration and finance management, in a public/quasi-public organization or a related sector. They should have strong managerial and supervisory skills, a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese); excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to work under pressure and independently as well as in a team. Preference will be given to those with experience in developing and managing large-scale, multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral projects in collaboration with NGOs or community partners. Candidate(s) with less experience may be considered for appointment as Administrative Assistant II.
The appointee will manage the operations of community health projects and report to the Principal Investigator (PI) to ensure meeting project goals and targets and according to the project proposal and plan. He/She will build and maintain good relationship with major stakeholders, including the funder, academic and research staff members, government departments, NGOs, community partners, social service providers and technical professionals. He/She will organize regular team meetings to check progress and prepare reports to relevant internal and external parties, supervise research-support staff, manage project operations, finance, human resources, publicity, and perform other duties as assigned by the PI.
