Research Assistant Professor

Applications are invited from outstanding young researchers for the positions of Research Assistant Professor in various Division/Departments of the School of Science.

Applicants should be a recent PhD graduate in Chemistry, Life Science, Mathematics, Ocean Science, Physics or related disciplines, with at least one year’s post-doctoral research experience. Ideal candidates should have strong commitment to research excellence and teaching, with the potential to conduct innovative research. Track records in gaining competitive research grant and a substantial publication record would be an advantage. Successful appointees are expected to develop their own research program in one of the major research areas of the host Division/Department, and take the lead on individual research project to obtain competitive research funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for two years. Further extension of contract will be subject to performance, funding availability and mutual agreement. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
