The Schools Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China (The Federation), formally inaugurated on 1st September 1997, is an amalgamated body of the 3 former schools sports organizations and currently, it has been registered as a company limited with a charitable status. The Federation, the overall controlling body of school sports in Hong Kong is administered by the Board with the Secondary School Sports Council and Primary School Sports Council looking after their respective secondary and primary schools programmes and related issues, and the External School Sports Committee taking care of the Jing Ying, Inter-port as well as international school sports competitions.

Over the years we have established a feeder system (including selection and training) with most of the national sports associations (NSAs). It provides our student athletes the quality training required for them to achieve higher performance in the All China Secondary School Students Games, inter-port and other international competitions. In addition, those potential athletes will be able to feed to the NSAs, to prepare them for higher level of competitions in future.

Project Officer (1-year contract)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To handle duties related to the planning, organisation and overall coordination of The 2027 Greater Bay Area School Sports Competition - Table Tennis to be held in Hong Kong.
To coordinate arrangements for competition venue, accommodation, catering, transportation, hospitality and other logistics to ensure smooth event operations.
To liaise with various Government departments, National Sports Association, media, sponsors and other related parties for event support.
To assist in recruiting and managing part-time officials, helpers and volunteers.
To arrange publicity and promotional activities for the competition.
To provide secretariat and administrative support for the Organising Committee.
To prepare regular progress reports and financial reports to senior management and the relevant Government department.
To undertake other duties assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

An accredited Associate Degree from a Hong Kong tertiary institution / a Higher Diploma from a polytechnic university or polytechnic in Hong Kong or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or equivalent;
A minimum of two years’ experience in related field preferable;
Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English, and fluent spoken Putonghua;
Possessing good capabilities in financial management, problems solving and risk management;
Strong communication skills and ability to establish effective working relationships at different levels;
Overtime and irregular working hours required; and
Immediate available is highly preferred.
