Technical Officer
Salary: HKD25,115
Entry Requirements:
Holders of Diploma / Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or equivalent from a Hong Kong university / polytechnic / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute / technical college or equivalent;
Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent 【See Note (1)】(please provide details of the public examination results obtained); and
Post-qualification experience in building maintenance and knowledge of relevant IT software is preferable.
General Notes
For appointment purpose, Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 2 respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth; Level 1 in the Use of Chinese and Use of English papers of the Common Recruitment Examination are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 4 in Chinese Language and English Language of the HKDSEE.
Candidate must be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.
Major Job Duties:
1. To work in the Project Management Section and be responsible for:
Planning, developing, implementing and monitoring the management systems of engineering assets (such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital workflow systems);
Preparing technical drawings, project displays and presentation work;
Performing basic engineering calculations, design and plotting of engineering drawings;
Assisting in the preparation of work equipment, price schedules and cost budget;
Assisting in conducting site survey, site inspection / verification, site engineering measurement and maintaining records of work equipment;
Searching, recording and updating technical data;
Operating instruments (including specialized instruments);
Assisting in maintaining computer-based information systems and providing IT support, and
2. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.
Terms of Appointment
This vacancy is a post on the Secretariat’s establishment. Salary of the position will be remunerated and subject to annual increment where applicable with reference to the Master Pay Scale of the Civil Service. It may also be subject to Civil Service pay adjustment. The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule. Upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance, the appointee will be granted a gratuity for the period of service. Such gratuity, plus any contribution by the Employer to the MPF scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Scheme Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Other fringe benefits include 14 days annual leave, group medical and dental-care scheme.
