Technical Officer

HKD25,115 – 28,225 (salary will be commensurate with experience) 【See Note (1)

Entry Requirements:

  1. Holders of Diploma / Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or equivalent from a Hong Kong university / polytechnic / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute / technical college or equivalent;

  2. Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent 【See Note (2)】(please provide details of the public examination results obtained);

  3. Experience and knowledge in developing software with Python, Java, JavaScript, web programming, C# or experience in cloud ecosystems; and

  4. Previous working experience in government / quasi-government / public organization is an advantage.

General Note:

  1. Other than the basic entry requirements, candidate with qualifications in Certified Associate in Python Programming (PCEP/PCAP) offered by the Python Institute OR Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Java SE Developer OR C Certified Associate Programmer (CLA) OR C++ Certified Associate Programmer (CPA) OR AWS Certified Developer (Associate) OR other equivalent qualifications, if selected for appointment, a monthly salary up to $28,225 may be offered.

  2. For appointment purpose, Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 2 respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth; Level 1 in the Use of Chinese and Use of English papers of the Common Recruitment Examination are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 4 in Chinese Language and English Language of the HKDSEE.

  3. Candidate must be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

  4. Where a large number of candidates meet the specified entry requirements, the Committee may devise shortlisting criteria to select the better qualified candidates for further processing. In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend selection interview.

Major Job Duties:

  1. To work in the Project Management Section and be responsible for:
    a. Planning, developing, implementing and monitoring the management systems of engineering assets (such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital workflow systems);
    b. Conduct system testing, IT security audit and prepare documentation for the systems;
    c. Coordination with IT consultants on the development of the management systems; and
    d. Carry out ad-hoc programming or IT tasks to support the Section’s operations. Perform system maintenance and database administrative tasks.

  2. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Terms of Appointment

This vacancy is a post on the Secretariat’s establishment. Salary of the position will be remunerated and subject to annual increment where applicable with reference to the Master Pay Scale of the Civil Service. It may also be subject to Civil Service pay adjustment. The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule. Upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance, the appointee will be granted a gratuity for the period of service. Such gratuity, plus any contribution by the Employer to the MPF scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Scheme Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Other fringe benefits include 14 days annual leave, group medical and dental-care scheme.

Officer (Promotion)

Salary: HKD17,200 – 18,305 (salary will be commensurate with experience) 【See Note (1)】

Entry Requirements:

  1. Associate Degree or above in any discipline;

  2. Level 2 or equivalent or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent【See Note (2)】(please provide details of the public examination results obtained);

  3. 1 year’s full-time working experience in event management or organizing community activities is preferable;

  4. Possess qualification in Chinese culture or digital marketing related disciplines or solid working experience in digital marketing or knowledge in Premiero Pro is an advantage;

  5. Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, Photoshop and Illustrator;

  6. Willing to work overtime, on weekends and public holiday as required;

  7. Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;

  8. Able to speak Cantonese and English; and

  9. Previous working experience in government / quasi-government / public organization is an advantage.

General Note:

  1. Other than the basic entry requirements, candidate with qualifications in both Chinese culture and digital marketing related disciplines OR with qualification in Chinese culture with at least 1 year’s proven full-time experience in digital marketing, if selected for appointment, a monthly salary of $18,305 may be offered.

  2.   2. To prepare and deliver materials of workshops and guided tours to be held at different locations;

  3. To assist in registration for the Committee functions, designing and creating digital marketing content for social media;

  4. To proofread the subtitles for the temple culture talks;

  5. To arrange temple culture talks, workshops and guided tours on weekends / Sundays;

  6. To process filming applications from schools, NGOs and filming organizations; and

  7. To perform any other duties assigned by senior officers.
