Administrator - Legal Services

Duties & Responsibilities:
Providing litigation and general administrative support to the Legal Services Division.
Assisting in the preparation of cases for court and Tribunal hearings.
Filing documents in courts.
Liaising with the High Court Registry and Clerk of Court’s Office.
Effecting service of documents.
Updating legal reference materials.
Requirements:
Experience in a law firm / legal department as a legal clerk.
Experience of court filing and service of court documents.
Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Good attention to detail with strong organisation and coordination skills.
Ability to prioritise and work under tight deadlines.
Ability to be pro-active in providing litigation and administrative support to the Legal Services Division.
Possesses strong sense of responsibility and impeccable integrity.
Proficiency in PC applications including MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Good command of English and Chinese.
Prepared to work overtime as required.
Previous experience in the taxation of bill of costs process would be an advantage.
Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of legal clerk.
Legal Executive - Legal Services

Duties & Responsibilities:
An excellent opportunity to join the statutory body which regulates and promotes the development of the securities and futures markets in Hong Kong. This legal executive role involves providing a range of support to lawyers in the Commission’s Legal Services Division across a wide variety of litigation and advisory work. The key focus will be to conduct legal research and draft research notes, and to provide substantive assistance to prepare cases for court and tribunal hearings including some drafting work.
Requirements:
You must have: excellent legal research and drafting skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise research notes, correspondence and simple court documents; good attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule; an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and good computer skills in Word, Excel, Acrobat and Powerpoint. You must have a good law degree. Relevant work experience in a law firm and experience in court-related work including knowledge of applicable rules and procedures in civil and criminal proceedings would be an advantage.

Duties & responsibility:
This position offers the successful applicant an excellent opportunity to join the Press Office which is responsible for formulating and implementing media strategies to promote the SFC’s policies and actions; devising core messages to articulate the SFC’s position on regulatory issues to enable the public to better understand the importance of the SFC’s role in protecting investors and upholding market integrity.
The successful applicant will be part of the team responsible for media communications, with primary responsibilities including:
Preparing daily news updates for internal distribution;
Drafting and editing press releases and other media-related materials;
Identifying current and emerging issues relevant to the SFC through media monitoring and analysis;
Handling media enquiries and assisting the team in disseminating responses directed at media stakeholders in an efficient and effective manner; and
Organising press conferences, interviews and other media events.
Requirements:
Sound knowledge of the Hong Kong financial market, including strong interest in gaining an appreciation of Hong Kong’s regulatory framework for the financial services industry.
A good understanding of the operation of media organizations and an aptitude for “news sense”; previous journalistic experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Excellent communication skills, including high proficiency in writing and editing skills in both English and Chinese, and fluency in Putonghua is an added advantage.
Excellent interpersonal skills, a good team player and above all, a high degree of personal integrity.
