Student Development Manager - (2600155)

The appointee will lead the development of leadership enhancement in Leadership and Service Learning Section.  He/she is required to develop strategies to enhance students’ leadership potential and skills, and to use survey data to suggest the improvement of service.  The appointee’s main responsibilities are: (1) to design and conduct leadership programs; (2) to design and conduct positive education programs; (3) to administer the Whole Person Development Inventory and non-formal learning transcript; (4) to build up community networks and mobilize available resources for student development; (5) to provide administrative support and coach junior staff; and (6) to perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervising officers.  Job rotation and working outside normal office hours will be required.  We look for people who are passionate in youth development with desire to drive positive change.  They are problem solvers with effective communication and productivity experts with innovative service mind.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in social science, humanity or related field with at least seven years of post-qualification working experience at the executive or managerial level. Working experience in student development programs, service project management, or youth developmental work at the tertiary education sector is a must.  They should have high proficiency in English and Chinese (including Putonghua); strong interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills; a positive personality with service-oriented mindset and be self-motivated with passion for working with students.


Marketing and Communications Officer/ Marketing and Communications Associate - (2600117)

Faculty of Education and Human Development

The appointee will be responsible for providing research and engagement support to the Office of the Faculty Dean. He/ She will work closely with the Research and Impact Team to develop strategies to promote research and engagement activities locally and internationally; produce compelling content in written, visual and video formats for use across multiple communication channels, including the website, blog, X, LinkedIn and other social media platforms; identify new opportunities to enhance the positive impact of our research and engagement activities; manage initiatives to connect with research partners; liaise with departments and centres to promote research, impact, knowledge transfer and engagement activities; collect, track and report on research and engagement activities across departments and centres; organise international seminars and events; and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Occasional travel may be required. The appointment will be for a period of two years.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation, Communication, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline, with at least 2 years’ of post-qualification full-time work experience in corporate communication; proficiency in English and Chinese (including Putonghua); strong communication, writing and editing skills; proactive, innovative, and able to work under pressure; Prior experience in managing social media or promoting research projects will be an advantage. Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of Project Assistant.

The appointee will be responsible for driving and facilitating student professional development, including the exploration and integration of technology and AI-powered tools for personalised advising and resume optimisation, as well as leading a team by various strategies in engaging stakeholders effectively; actively taking part in the activity cycle from initiation, planning, execution and closure for training and services of students and fresh graduates; proactively soliciting career partners for short- and long-term local and outbound activities including trips, visits and career exploration programmes enhanced by AI-driven insights; conducting flagship programmes, employment services, mass events, surveys and other professional development activities or programmes; establishing partnerships with external organisations from various industries to effectively engage students is a must.  The appointee will play a supporting role to supervisors for event development, supporting committee works and supervising junior staff.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree with at least seven years of post-qualification working experience at supervisory or managerial level in the tertiary education sector, student service area and/or marketing field.  They should possess good leadership attributes in driving a team to achieve deliverables; high proficiency in both English and Chinese (including Putonghua); numerical and resourceful with strong knowledge of the local and overseas employment market and trend for young professionals and graduates; experience in working with various stakeholders effectively at all levels in private and/or public sectors; strong problem-solver with effective communication, interpersonal, organization and supervisory skills; creative, energetic, self-starter with proven results to achieve and/or beyond the set targets and engage partners and youth as far as possible. Department of Literature and Cultural Studies
 

The Department of Literature and Cultural Studies seeks applications for fractional teaching positions at the rank of Lecturer I. The appointee will engage in teaching, administrative duties, and other services. They will be required to teach programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, provide academic guidance to students in the capacity of academic adviser, and contribute to other departmental and faculty activities and management. Experience in tertiary teaching is essential.

Applicants should possess a Doctoral Degree in classical or modern Chinese literature and culture, along with a minimum of four years’ relevant post-qualification teaching experience. Evidence of high-quality teaching at the tertiary level is also required. Candidates with postgraduate teaching experience are particularly encouraged to apply. 

The expected start date will be in or around August 2026.
