The Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies is seeking inspirational and energetic candidates as the Teaching Assistant to support its growing scope of learning and teaching initiatives and endeavours. This is an exciting opportunity for those who wish to be part of a committed and enthusiastic team eager to develop his/her career in the higher education sector.
Successful applicants will join the team of highly qualified educators in the delivery of a wide range of learning and teaching activities. Responsibilities mainly include (i) to assist in various teaching activities (e.g. tutorials/laboratory sessions, in-class case discussions, provide support to fieldworks/trips, practicum, workshops, on-site technical support to lectures where necessary, etc.); (ii) to assist in the preparation of course materials and administration; (iii) to provide supervisory and pastoral support to students; and (iv) to invigilate examination and mark assignments. The employee will be required to travel outside Hong Kong and undertake the works as assigned by the University when necessary.
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in Education, Geography, Finance, or Business Studies, with some experience in providing teaching support. They should have an excellent command of both written English and Chinese; proficiency in spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua is preferred. They should also be self-motivated, well-organized, have good interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work independently and collectively as a good team member and have the ability to work under pressure. Those with experience in providing teaching support in tertiary institutions will have the advantage. The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University's Voluntary Contributions to MPF Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 10% of the basic salary), leave, medical and dental benefits.

Assistant Student Development Manager (Sports Development) - (2600307)
Student Affairs Office
The appointee will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Student Affairs Office’s sports development and wellness activities, e.g. administration of sports competitions including USFHK competitions, overseeing sports teams, organising and promoting wellness events, etc. The appointee will assist in event planning and management, preparing proposals and reports, handling payment- and human resources-related matters, liaising with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. attending meetings of relevant local sports associations, liaising with sports coaches and sports teams, etc.), updating and maintaining the database/system/equipment and assisting with ad hoc duties assigned by the Dean/ Associate Deans of Students and the Director/Associate Director of Student Affairs.
Applicants should have a recognised Bachelor’s degree with several years of relevant post-qualification working experience. Full-time working experience in the tertiary education sector and working with university students will be an advantage. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua), strong management, organisational, communication and analytical skills, computer literacy, attention to detail, and a sense of responsibility are required. Working outside normal office hours and travelling outside Hong Kong may be occasionally required.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
