Product Design Team Leader (Apply-HK-2405-PDTL)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Design Team Leader to spearhead our optical transceiver product development efforts in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree and extensive background in fiber optics communication, coupled with proficiency in either optical design, precision mechanical design, or RF/circuit design. This individual will lead a team of talented engineers to drive the design and development of state-of-the-art 400G, 800G pluggable optical transceivers (OSFP, QSFP-DD, etc.), ensuring that our products meet and exceed the industry's stringent performance and reliability standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers in the design, development, and testing of advanced fiber optic transceiver products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of product design efforts.

  • Define product specifications, requirements, and timelines in alignment with market demands and business objectives.

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decision-making and product roadmap development.

  • Act as a subject matter expert in fiber optics communication, offering insights and recommendations to support product development and customer engagement activities.

  • Champion best practices in design methodologies, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance to ensure product excellence and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  •  Master degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in fiber optics communication, with expertise in optical design, precision mechanical design, or RF/circuit design.

  • Proven track record of leadership in designing 400G, 800G pluggable optical transceivers (OSFP, QSFP-DD, etc.), from concept to production is a must.

  • Strong technical proficiency in optical communication principles, components, and systems, with a focus on high-speed data transmission.

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements related to optical transceiver products is preferred.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Apply-HK-2304-SMDE)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall mechanical design of optical sensor, transceiver products and associated opto-mechanical sub-assemblies;

  • Coordinate with PCB and optical designers to provide product design with good manufacturability;

  • Perform mechanical simulation and tolerant analysis to optimize package designs, materials selection and assembly processes;

Requirements:

  • Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering disciplines;

  • Proficient in Creo, Solidwork or equivalent 3-D CAD software with good command of GD&T skills;

  • Prior experience in fiber-optic transceiver product design in accordance with standard multisource agreements (MSA) for optical transceivers is preferred;

  • Hands-on experience in structural and thermal simulation using ANSYS or other FEA tools;

  • Experience of precision manufacturing processes and tooling construction of machining, stamping, die casting, and injection molding is a plus;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for direct interaction with production team, vendors and suppliers;

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multilingual environment (English and Mandarin);

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, independent, self-motivated, creative, innovative and responsible;

  • Work locations in Hong Kong and travel to the PRC may be required.
