Senior Sports Executive (Tournament)

The Hong Kong, China Tennis Association (“HKCTA”) is seeking a high caliber candidate for the above position:

Job Description:

  • Assist and report to the Senior Management including Senior Manager and Director;

  • Manage local and local-international tournament by the HKCTA, including supervision and management of clerical staff;

  • Set and execute tournament plans and attend to on-site matters;

  • Prepare and submit annual budgets, and provide regular reports on income and expenditure to the Council;

  • Attend Committee meetings and provide administrative and secretariat support

  • Promote development of the sport discipline and assist the media publicity;

  • Liaise with the LCSD and other bodies on funding and other relevant matters;

  • Maintain the proper administration of the NSA office;

  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of the Tournament Plan with a view to raising standards and broadening the participating base of the sport; and

  • Ensure timely reporting and conscientious compliance with the terms of the HKCTA /LCSD Subvention Agreement.

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary qualification with Sports / Physical Education / Recreation as one of the subject studies;

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant working experience;

  • Knowledge of tennis or the sports sector is an advantage;

  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and work irregular hours;

  • A Creative, outgoing, flexible, self-driven personality and a strong team player;

  • Previous experience in government/NSA/ quasi-governmental organizations is preferred; and

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese, knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage.

Sports Executive (Development Team)

Job Description:

  • Assist and report to supervisor in organizing programmes/ courses.

  • Manage training programmes/ courses including supervision and management of clerical staff.

  • Liaise with stakeholders (clubs, LCSD, other organizations) for programme implementation and publicity.

  • Prepare and submit annual budgets; provide regular reports on income and expenditure to the Council.

  • Attend Committee meetings and provide administrative and secretariat support.

  • Handle administrative functions with other HKCTA staffs, including fund transfer, accounting, and payroll.

  • Maintain proper administration of the NSA office and ensure compliance with HKCTA/LCSD requirements.

  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of development plans to raise standards and broaden participation.

  • Execute promotional plans and contribute to the growth of the sport.

  • Ad-hoc assignments if required.

Requirements:

  • A degree or post secondary qualification in Sports, Physical Education, Recreation, or related discipline, at least 2 years relevant working experience.

  • Knowledge of tennis, pickleball or other sports is an advantage.

  • Proficient in PC applications; knowledge of social media management preferred.

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese; Mandarin is an advantage.

  • Creative, outgoing, flexible, self driven, team player; able to work independently and under pressure.

Assistant Human Resources Manager

Reporting to: Director of Finance and Control

Role Purpose

We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR professional to join our team as Assistant HR Manager to support the Association's people strategy and day-to-day HR operations. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape and strengthen the HR function in partnership with the Executive Team, with scope to build and lead your own team as the Association grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives in compliance with Hong Kong Employment Ordinance and best practices.

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, probation, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding.

  • Coordinate payroll administration, leave management, MPF, taxation, employee insurance, and staff benefits.

  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and other statutory requirements.

  • Support manpower planning, organizational development, succession planning, and workforce reporting.

  • Coordinate annual performance appraisal and staff learning and development programmes.

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance to department heads and managers on employment-related matters.

  • Assist in preparing HR budgets, reports, and management information for senior management and the Board.

  • Review and update HR policies, the Staff Handbook, employment contracts and relevant service provider agreements.

  • Promote employee engagement, staff wellness, and a positive workplace culture.

  • Perform other HR duties as assigned.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Assistant Manager role.

  • Sound knowledge of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, MPF legislation, and other relevant labour regulations.

  • Hands-on experience in recruitment, payroll administration, compensation and benefits, performance management, and employee relations.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with HRIS is an advantage.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese); proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.

  • Candidates with more extensive relevant experience may be considered for appointment as HR Manager
