Technical Officer (Helpdesk Support), Information Technology Services Centre (Ref: 24/30/ITSC/TO)

Duties

The appointee will assist his/her supervisor in (i) providing helpdesk support to users; (ii) supporting the audio/video equipment for classrooms and events; (iii) IT asset management; (iv) computer operations support; (v) desktop configuration, deployment, administration and upgrade; (vi) perform shift duties including weekends and public holidays and (vii) system administration support tasks as assigned by his/her supervisor.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should: (i) have at least a recognised Higher Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines; (ii) preferably have at least 1 year of relevant work experience; (iii) have experience in providing helpdesk support, preferably with exposure in administering desktop PC, servers, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365 platform, firewall, wired and wireless network devices; (iv) be proactive, a good team player and able to work independently with capability in compiling documentation and a sense of accountability.

Public Affairs Officer (Media and Public Relations) (Ref: 24/20/PAO/PR)

Duties:

  • Draft and manage communication collaterals including press releases, social media posts, fact sheets, and presentation materials.

  • Maintain and manage official websites through coordination with internal stakeholders.

  • Draft and create content on the university's social media platforms.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Appointment Criteria:

  • Recognised bachelor's degree in media, public relations, or related disciplines.

  • Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in public relations, corporate communication or digital marketing.

  • Experience in web management is highly advantageous.

  • Working knowledge of website management tools, SEO, HTML/CSS, XML, Office 365; knowledge of Javascript is preferred but not necessary.

  • Able to work independently and cope with pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment.

Administrative Officer, Felizberta Lo Padilla Tong School of Social Sciences (Ref: 24/13/SS/AO)

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for (i) drafting and preparing discussion papers, proposals, correspondences and reports; (ii) serving as secretary to such committees as assigned; (iii) providing administrative support for teaching and learning; institutional review, programme validation, revalidation and accreditation; (iv) coordinating a team for administrative duties; (v) assisting in the two Institutions' functions; and (vi) undertaking such other duties as determined by the Supervisors.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have (a) a recognised Bachelor's degree; (b) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (c) proficiency in computer applications; (d) good organisational and communication skills; and (e) relevant work experience.

Assistant Librarian II (Electronic Resources Management) (Ref: 24/15/LIB/ALII)

Duties:

  • assist in conducting daily activities concerning the e-collections of the Library (such as liaising with suppliers with regard to acquisition, subscription, renewal and payment) and in managing the budget for e-resources and monitoring their usage; review library policies, procedures and regulations in relation to library access and collection management;

  • implement policies and guidelines on e-resources, formulate annual development plans and participate in library-wide projects;

  • provide liaison services to the Schools / Departments and help develop the e-collections so as to meet the Institute's growing curricular and research needs;

  • review and update the webpages in order to promote the e-resources and services;

  • maintain the relevance of the e-collections by analyzing statistical data and compiling reports to inform the decision-making processes;

  • supervise and provide training to the support staff;

  • serve on committees and task forces as appropriate;

  • undertake other duties as assigned by the Librarian or his/her delegates.

Appointment Criteria:

  • a recognized degree and professional qualifications (e.g. MLS, MCLIP or equivalent;

  • at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably with supervisory experience in libraries of higher education institutions;

  • a sound knowledge of e-resources management;

  • a familiarity with library management systems and discovery tools;

  • strong coordination, organizational and interpersonal skills;

  • an ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment;

  • a high level of proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

The appointee will be required to work shifts in evenings and on weekends.

Assistant Librarian II (Access Services) (Ref: 24/14/LIB/ALII)

Duties:

  • oversee fulfillment operations (including circulation, reserve and Interlibrary Loan services);

  • review library policies, procedures and regulations in relation to library access and collection management;

  • discharge duties in the reference section and respond to enquiries;

  • compile reports on the basis of statistical data to inform decisions on the provision of high-quality library services;

  • monitor the condition of the physical space and contribute to the improvement of the facilities so as to enhance user experiences;

  • draft annual development plans and participate in library-wide projects;

  • supervise and provide training to support staff;

  • serve on committees and task forces as appropriate;

  • undertake other duties as assigned by the Librarian or his/her delegates.

Programme Officer/Senior Programme Officer/Assistant Manager (Ref: 23/129/CAPS/PO/SPO/AM)

Duties:

The appointee will be required to (i) provide daily administration on the assigned programmes by carrying out general administration duties on student recruitment and admission, instructors' recruitment, daily correspondence and timetable scheduling; (2) support in the arrangements of enrolment functions and Institute functions; (3) be responsible for promotion, development and publicity of CAPS programmes; (4) liaise with partner institutions on programme development, quality assurance measures and any matter of assigned programmes; (5) undertake such other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Appointment Criteria:

Applicants should: (i) have a recognised Bachelor's degree or above plus skills in computer/ Web applications, strong communication and reporting skills; (ii) have a very good command of spoken and written English and Chinese with good collaboration skill and strong commitment; and (iii) be willing to work evening shifts.

Administrative Officer, Institute Secretariat (Human Resources) (Ref: 24/04/IS/AO)

Duties:

  • Provide support in implementing HR projects, including standardizing HR processes, HR systems, and other related projects;

  • Maintain HR data and files, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records, and involve in conducting HR related analysis;

  • Provide support in the recruitment and selection process;

  • Provide support in employee relations, including assisting with conflict resolution, disciplinary matters, and complaints handling.
