CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION DIVISION (CPED)

The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School invites applications for the following positions in the Continuing and Professional Education Division:

Applicants should possess relevant teaching and/or professional experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Financial Accounting

  • Management Accounting

  • Financial Management

  • Economics

  • Statistics

The appointee is required to (i) perform teaching duties in related disciplines; (ii) provide academic guidance to students; (iii) develop, coordinate curriculum and manage programmes; (iv) supervise projects; (v) coordinate with the part-time teaching staff; (vi) assist administrative work for the responsible programmes/courses such as admission interview, handling students’ enquiries and organising student activities.

Requirements:

Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably at the doctoral level, in the relevant discipline, along with teaching experience. A master's degree may also be considered. Candidates must demonstrate dedication and commitment to teaching and education; meanwhile, research competence is a factor to be considered. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential. 

Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Lecturer II or Assistant Lecturer.

Reference salary range: 

Lecturer I                   : HK$51,000 - HK$86,000

Lecturer II                  : HK$38,000 - HK$53,000

Assistant Lecturer   : HK$30,000 - HK$39,000

The appointee will mainly work at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Senior Executive Officer / Executive Officer (Ref. No.: 25260807)

It also offers in house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:

Reporting to the Dean and Manager, the appointee will undertake a wide array of administrative duties and liaison work to support the operation of the Dean’s Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and compile data related to academic and operational activities for various analyses and preparation of reports for various parties;

  • Provide secretariat support to various School-level committees/working groups;

  • Provide administrative support to the daily operation of the Dean’s Office;

  • Liaise and collaborate closely with colleagues across different teams and sections to support coordination and information sharing;

  • Contribute to administrative tasks in support of planning activities for the strategic development project; and

  • Assist in various School events/activities on a need basis.

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably with experience in serving the senior management;

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;

  • Competency in computer applications;

  • Well-organised, detail-minded, and highly self-motivated; and

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Executive Officer.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Reappointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

The appointee is expected to perform the following duties:

We are building a high‑performance IT team to support the ongoing digital transformation and future growth of the School. We are looking for a strong, motivated candidate who is passionate about application design, system development, and delivering meaningful business impact through technology.

This role offers an opportunity to become a core member of our IT application team, working closely with business stakeholders to enhance mission‑critical systems and deliver modern, scalable solutions. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting, maintaining, and modernizing legacy applications while contributing to new system development, supporting the transformation journey in a complex and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will play a dual role as a System Analyst and IT Business Analyst, bridging business needs with technical implementation. The role requires strong analytical capability to translate user requirements into clear functional specifications, while also contributing to system design and development activities. 

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into clear user stories and functional specifications

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to design practical, scalable solutions that meet business needs

  • Support development by providing clear requirements, guiding implementation, and ensuring alignment between business and technical delivery

  • Contribute to system design and development, and provide technical guidance to the developers

  • Analyze and document system interfaces, especially between legacy and new platforms, to ensure smooth integration and reliable data exchange

  • Participate in full SDLC activities, including requirements gathering, design, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support

  • Develop and enhance application solutions, including modernizing legacy systems to support evolving business needs

  • Prepare and maintain testing materials, system documentation, and user manuals to ensure quality and user adoption

  • Work closely with IT teams and business users on institution-wide IT initiatives and projects

  • Undertake other IT-related tasks and projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related discipline

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in application development and business analysis, covering end-to-end system delivery across front-end, back-end, and database design

  • Strong business analysis skills with the ability to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions

  • Hands-on experience in system design and development, including responsive design and system integration

  • Strong hands-on solid proven experience in the following programming languages: Java, PHP, Python, RESTful API, SQL and shell script;

  • Good knowledge of any of the following is an advantage: Docker, Kubernetes, MS Power Platform, PowerBuilder, Sybase database, Jira and test automation tools;

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex system issues; and

  • Possess solid written and verbal communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences, and strong commitment-to-task. Proficiency in both English and Chinese is required.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.

The initial appointment for the above post will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year.  Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
