Po Leung Kuk is a well-established charitable organization in Hong Kong that has been serving the local community for more than 145 years. The Kuk provides diversified social services including education, welfare and recreation to the general public.

We are now inviting high caliber personnel to apply for the position of: 

IBPYP Senior Teacher, support student holistic development (Part-time)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive extracurricular program that caters to the diverse interests and talents of students, promoting their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being.

  • Lead and mentor teachers and instructors to foster a spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication while promoting a culture of inclusivity and diversity. 

  • Collaborate with staff, students, and parents to identify and develop new extracurricular opportunities that align with the school's mission and values.

  • Organize and oversee school events, competitions, and activities that promote student engagement, leadership development, and community involvement.

  • Provide guidance and support to students in their extracurricular pursuits, helping them set goals, overcome challenges, and achieve personal growth.

  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate holistic education principles into the overall school curriculum and culture.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of extracurricular programs and activities, collecting feedback and data to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in holistic education, incorporating new ideas and approaches to enhance the student experience.

  • Participating as a member of the pedagogical leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, or Bachelor Degree and recognised post-graduate teaching certificate; Registered Teacher status in Hong Kong

  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with a focus on holistic education, extracurricular activities, or student leadership;

  • Excellent communication skills, with near native-level English proficiency;

  • Competent at incorporating differentiation and technology as learning tools;

  • Internationally minded, respecting both Eastern and Western cultures;

  • Knowledge of pedagogical practices that support holistic development, social-emotional learning, and student well-being;

  • A passionate, caring, natural educator who loves children;

  • Adaptable, creative and flexible to take on a variety of roles;

  • An organized, efficient, yet patient team player;

  • Able to balance the high demands of work.
