Po Leung Kuk's first IB World School authorized to offer the PYP, opened in Tin Hau in August 2017 and is growing!

Po Leung Kuk is a well-established charitable organization in Hong Kong that has been serving the local community for more than 143 years. The Kuk provides diversified social services including education, welfare and recreation to the general public.

We are now inviting high caliber personnel to apply for the position of: 

PE Teacher & ECA Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the PE development across the school, including the written curriculum, reflections and student assessment;

  • Manage and maintain resources in a well-organised, positive learning environment;

  • Leading the development of extracurricular activities (ECAs)

  • Assist in inter-school and inter-house sports teams; 

  • Develop a positive and collegial department culture, which promotes collaboration and developing others.

  • Plan, prepare and deliver stimulating lessons that meet individual learning needs and ensure student progress;

  • Use a range of appropriate teaching and learning strategies that facilitate active learning through guided inquiry;

  • Use a range of assessment and recording strategies that show student achievement in relation to learning outcomes;

  • Regularly provide clear, constructive feedback to students;

  • Participate in collaborative planning, professional development, reflections and other school meetings; and

  • Supervise students and perform other ad hoc duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, or Bachelor Degree and recognised post-graduate teaching certificate; EDB Registered Teacher status is a must;

  • PYP training and teaching experience (Highly desirable);

  • Valid First Aid Certificate holder is highly preferred;

  • Excellent communication skills, with native English proficiency;

  • Understanding of differentiation strategies and technology as learning tools;

  • Inquiry-based teaching experience preferred;

  • Internationally minded, respecting both Eastern and Western cultures;

  • A passionate, caring, natural educator who loves children;

  • Adaptable, creative, and flexible to take on a variety of roles;

  • An organized, efficient, yet patient team player;

  • Able to balance the high demands of work with leisure
