Platform Engineer - Officer - Cloud Platform Services - IT

Responsibilities:

  • Automate and optimize infrastructure provisioning and deployment cycles, upholding reliability, security, and compliance with continuous security practices.

  • Design and build robust internal applications and tools that enable developers to access scalable infrastructure through intuitive self-service interfaces.

  • Lead the design of standardized services and APIs in collaboration with application, operations, and security teams.

  • Support and maintain cloud platforms across both on-premise and public cloud environments.

  • Champion a culture of automation, security, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related field (postgraduate degree is a plus).

  • Cloud-computing certification with AWS, Azure, GCP, or Chinese cloud providers (expert certification is a plus).

  • Solid understanding of Linux, TCP/IP, and Git fundamentals.

  • Strong grasp of software-engineering principles across design, testing, CI/CD, and release management.

  • Proficiency in Terraform, having built a production-ready Terraform provider is a plus.

  • Familiarity with microservice architecture and 12-factor principles, experience building a microservice platform is a plus.

  • Experience building internal developer tooling, e.g. CLI, API, web-app, pipelines.

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language, e.g. Shell, Python, Ruby, or Perl.

  • Comfortable working with data, separate insight from large, complex datasets.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), with additional exposure to Chinese-based cloud solutions (e.g. either Public or Private) highly desirable.

  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently.

  • Practical problem-solver comfortable operating in complex, distributed environments.

  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

  • First-principles builder, when a tool isn't available, you take the initiative to build it.


Vice President/ Assistant Vice President - Media Relations

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of HKEX’s group‑wide social media strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, market positioning and business priorities, whilst strengthening brand awareness and HKEX’s role as a global market leader.

  • Provide strategic counsel to executives, business leaders and internal teams on all things social media.

  • Oversee the planning, creation and distribution of high‑quality content across HKEX’s corporate channels, including LinkedIn, WeChat, X, Weibo, YouTube and other emerging platforms.

  • Drive the development of compelling narratives and digital campaigns that support HKEX’s corporate messaging, business initiatives and market developments, through rich storytelling and data-driven insights.

  • Lead and coordinate social media initiatives across the Group, working closely with business units, corporate functions, and regional teams to deliver integrated and consistent messaging and issues management.

  • Oversee real‑time monitoring of market sentiment, online discussions and digital conversations relating to HKEX.

  • Direct the analysis of social media performance using advanced analytical tools, extracting insights to optimise content, campaigns and long‑term strategy.

  • Guide junior team members, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, agility and professional growth.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media or related disciplines.

  • Excellent command of written English and Chinese, with strong editorial judgment and storytelling skills.

  • 6-8 years’ experience in social media, digital communications or related fields, preferably within regulated industries, or listed organisations.

  • Demonstrated success in building and executing high‑impact social media strategies at scale.

  • Deep understanding of global and Chinese Mainland social platforms, analytics tools, and emerging digital trends.

  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, able to influence senior leaders and work effectively in a large organisation.

Associate - Data Engineer - Chief Data Office

Job Duties:

  • Support the data transformation team in delivering high‑quality, reliable data solutions

  • Work with senior engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using SparkSQL and Python under senior guidance

  • Assist in managing data storage, retrieval, and organization within HDFS

  • Use Trino to perform distributed SQL queries and support BI/reporting needs

  • Contribute to ensuring data quality, integrity, and security across systems

  • Monitor pipeline performance and assist in performance tuning and optimization

  • Troubleshoot data issues and support production incident handling

  • Work with the SRE lead and senior engineers on incident investigation and root‑cause analysis

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Data Analytics team in conducting data exploration and performing data lineage analysis

  • Deliver high‑quality, maintainable data engineering work as part of the team

  • Build and enhance ETL workflows and data models with mentorship

  • Help ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of data infrastructure

  • Support business intelligence and reporting through efficient data transformations

  • Participate in on‑call rotations or incident processes as assigned

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related technical field

  • Hands-on experience with SparkSQL for data processing

  • Familiarity with HDFS and distributed file systems

  • Working experience with Trino, Presto, or other distributed SQL engines

  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation

  • Understanding of ETL concepts, data modeling, and pipeline design

  • Basic knowledge of distributed computing and big data ecosystems

  • Basic proficiency in English and Mandarin (written and verbal)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Huawei HCS, etc.)

  • Understanding of SQL performance tuning concepts

  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, or metadata management

  • Exposure to capital markets, trading systems, or investment workflows
