Senior Digital Product Specialist
About the Role
We are looking for a talented Senior Digital Product Specialist to join our Digital Team who will be responsible for developing and enhancing digital learning products, including interactive platforms, content delivery systems, and AI-powered products that empower educators and learners. This role focuses on creating user-centric, accessible, and high-performing products while ensuring seamless integration with evolving educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a senior hands-on digital product specialist for assigned digital learning platforms and internal tools, taking ownership from requirement clarification through solution delivery, release and post-launch support.
Work closely with the Head of Digital Product Management, System Analyst, Product Managers, Editorial Teams, UX/UI Designers, vendors and Group Technology to translate educational and business requirements into practical technical solutions.
Analyze platform needs, user journeys, data flows, integration points and operational constraints, then propose feasible solution options with clear implications on cost, timeline, maintainability and user experience.
Configure, enhance and maintain digital product features, user interfaces, service workflows, data handling logic and integration components using appropriate modern web, cloud and automation technologies.
Support API, SSO, entitlement, content delivery, reporting and third-party platform integrations, including LMS and education technology interoperability where required.
Contribute to AI-enabled product initiatives by researching suitable technologies, preparing prototypes or proof-of-concepts, supporting technical evaluation, and helping integrate approved AI services into product workflows such as content generation, recommendation systems, or intelligent automation.
Prepare technical specifications, implementation notes, test scenarios, release checklists and support documentation to ensure knowledge can be shared and maintained within the team.
Coordinate with internal and external technical teams on cloud services, environment setup, release planning, covering API design, service orchestration, data storage, secure access control within AWS environments, troubleshooting, security review, performance tuning and production incident follow-up.
Carry out hands-on investigation and problem solving across user interface behaviour, service workflows, data issues, access control, browser/device compatibility and user-reported production issues.
Promote good technical practices in maintainability, accessibility, responsive design, system performance, security awareness, version control, testing discipline and release quality.
Identify opportunities to improve internal workflows through automation, reusable tools, templates, AI-assisted processes and operational streamlining.
Designed and implemented Microservices-based architectures, enabling independent service deployment, scalability, and improved system maintainability across digital platforms.
Managed and optimized database solutions (both relational and NoSQL), including schema design, query performance tuning, and data consistency strategies for high-traffic applications.
Leveraged AWS Serverless technologies (including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3) to develop scalable, cost-efficient, and event-driven applications.
About You
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in full stack development, software development, or technical product development.
Proficiency in front-end technologies: React, Nextjs, CSS3
Strong back-end development experience with Node.js, Python.
Experience with MySQL / DynamoDB / PostgreSQL databases.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Hand-on experiences on LLM technologies and development.
Experiences with AWS Serverless architecture(Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, Cloudfront, WAF)
Hands-on experience building and deploying in a microservice architecture using Docker and Kubernetes.
Good understanding of responsive design, accessibility, browser/device compatibility, performance optimisation and secure product delivery principles.
Ability to investigate technical issues independently across user interface, service, database, integration and infrastructure layers.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new things.
Responsible and able to work under pressure.
Desirable:
Experience in the EdTech, education or publishing industry.
Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI, QTI or LTI standards.
Knowledge of content delivery networks (CDNs) and digital rights management (DRM).
Passion for education and improving learning experiences through technology.
Exposure to AI-enabled product workflows, automation tools, OCR, LLM services or AI-assisted content/product operations.
Experience working with external vendors, regional technology teams, cybersecurity reviewers or cloud/infrastructure teams.
Understanding of agile delivery, product lifecycle management, UAT coordination and production incident management.
