Programme Officer (Part-time, Contract-based)

About the position

We are seeking a Programme Officer to coordinate and execute our grant-making work and capacity-building activities. This is a part-time role, requiring 4 days of work per week (8 hours per day). As a small, collaborative team, we value collective input and flexibility. Therefore, the main job duties may evolve based on the candidate’s relevant experience, expertise, and developmental goals. As a member of the international network, this role also offers the opportunity to connect with a global perspective.

Responsibilities:

1. Implement the Grant-Making Work of HER Fund

  • Assist in reviewing grant applications in accordance with our grant-making policy and principles.

  • Manage grant projects by providing support, facilitating monitoring, evaluation, and learning, and building relationships.

  • Network and maintain relationships with potential grantee partners and community allies.

  • Assist with administrative tasks, including documentation and reporting.

2. Implement the Capacity Building Work of HER Fund

  • Manage capacity-building workshops for grantee partners.

  • Manage the "Transformative Feminist Leadership Programme".

  • Respond to the needs and aspirations of grantee partners to enhance their organizational capacities.

3. Support the Overall Development of HER Fund’s Programme

  • Assist in the monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes across all programmes.

  • Assist in the proposal development and report writing for various initiatives.

  • Support strategic planning and implementation.

4. Support the ad hoc duties

  • Assist with communications and fundraising events for HER Fund.

  • Network with funders and stakeholders.

  • Manage general administrative tasks.

Work Relations with Others:

The Programme Officer shall assume duties and functions as assigned and report to the Assistant Programme Manager and work in a team with other colleagues and members of related sub-committee(s).

Job Requirements:

  • Share the vision and mission of HER Fund.

  • Knowledge and commitment to gender equality and women’s rights.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of feminism is an advantage.

  • At least 2 years of working experience in project management, grant-making, and capacity building.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese).

  • Ability to interact comfortably with internal and external stakeholders including sub-committee members, colleagues, grassroots communities, consultants and workshop facilitators.

  • Open-minded, flexible, people-oriented, self-motivated.

  • Ability to work flexible hours.
