Exams and Data Privacy Officer (Two-year contract) - King George V School

Main Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for effective administration and running of external (currently IB, IGCSE, BTEC)
    and internal examinations including standardised tests and admissions tests.

  • Support the production of all examination timetables and school timetables.

  • Responsible for all exam communications and correspondence with stakeholders –
    students, parents, teachers, and the examination boards.

  • Coordinate examination facilities and oversee invigilation procedures.

  • Ensure exam board requirements are met in all examinations.

  • Responsible for ensuring effective distribution of results.

  • Responsible for analysing exam data (internal and external) to spot trends and to produce
    reports for all client groups.

  • Implement ESF data privacy policies and conduct checks to ensure data protection.

Exam Administration

  • Ensure students are entered accurately and accepted into the appropriate examinations
    before the exam board deadlines.

  • Work closely with teachers, exam boards, and colleagues in the same department in
    producing and publishing timetables for external and internal examinations.

  • Ensure examination venues are appropriate and follow up on associated logistics.

  • Ensure compliance with all examination board regulations and code of conduct.

  • Manage the invigilators to ensure smooth management of the external and internal
    examinations.

  • Issue invoices related to examinations and payment records for invigilation

  • Ensure arrangements are made for students with needs to sit exams independently.

  • Adhere to ESF/school emergency procedures in the event of fire and adverse weather
    conditions.

  • Available for late afternoon, early evening, Saturday shifts when requested.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Data Administration

  • To input, manage and transfer data on the system to maintain data integrity

  • To collaborate with school administrators to ensure data accuracy and coherence

  • To help compile data and statistics for leadership, ESF and EDB when required.

  • To provide data to assist with modelling and management information (e.g. timetabling,
    Assessment, Reporting and Recording, student academic results, etc) when required.

  • To assist in maintaining the school timetable

  • Understand and implement critical processes, including data confidentiality and privacy
    policies.

  • To work with the Data and Exams team to develop opportunities to improve the use of data in the school.

Data Privacy Administration

  • To implement ESF policies relating to data privacy and translate them into practical, day-to-
    day procedures for the KGV context.

  • To work with departments across the school to support the vetting of proposed new
    application software, online platforms and other apps. This includes all technologies that
    collect and store organisational data.

  • To audit existing application software, online platforms, and other apps used within the
    school, and to regularly check that these platforms continue to meet privacy expectations.

  • To use Google Workspace administrative tools to identify breaches and resolve any data
    protection leak incidents with staff and students.

  • To use Google Workspace to create groups to assist in the protection of data.

  • Assist in the creation of a Data Retention Inventory that records what data is held where
    and the schedule for deletion. Assist in managing data retention.

  • Work with Data team to keep up to date with Hong Kong laws and ordinances regarding
    privacy requirements

  • Work alongside other staff on new projects to advise on privacy requirements

Requirements:

  • Fresh graduates are welcomed. An undergraduate degree in administration, data
    analysis/management, computer science or related field is preferred.

  • Strong command of spoken English and high computer literacy

  • Logical, problem solver, ability to prioritise and handle complex tasks

  • Customer-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Highly organised and competent with MS Office and Google Suite

  • Independent thinker and willing to take the initiative to support the team

  • Willing to multi-task, be flexible and display robust time management skills.

  • Flexibility with working hours

  • Ad hoc duties assigned by the line manager

Teacher of Design Technology (Aug '26) - King George V School

The position will be a full-time finite contract from August 2026 to August 2028 with the possibility of renewal.  

Requirements.

  • Bachelor Degree in Design Technology or similar, plus a recognised Postgraduate teaching qualification, or equivalent;

  • A strong background in Design Technology and an ability to teach this subject to MYP (including food and mixed materials units), GCSE and IBDP and BTEC levels. Experience in IBDP and BTEC is desirable but not essential.

  • Previous Health and Safety accreditation would be an advantage however training / upskilling in key materials areas can be provided within the faculty.

  • Experience and ability to use data on student learning to modify curriculum, teaching and assessment provision;

  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to form positive relationships with students, staff and parents;

  • Contribute strongly to the DT Department Professional Learning Teams collaboration which is focused on improving student learning;

  • Monitor the impact of teaching strategies through collaborative enquiry and data informed conversations;

  • Ability to lead or support extra-curricular activities as part of the whole-school CAS programme and attend school functions as a representative of the school leadership team.
