Senior Executive Officer

Requirements:

  • A bachelor degree or above;

  • At least 5 years’ relevant administrative and supervisory working experience, preferably in tertiary institutions;

  • Work independently and proactively, with a strong sense of responsibility;

  • Strong management, interpersonal, administrative and problem
    solving skills;

  • Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet strict deadlines;

  • An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese including Cantonese and Mandarin; and

  • Proficient computer knowledge in MS Office, Adobe DC and
    Chinese word processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

  • Provide secretarial and executive support to the Faculty Dean

  • Provide secretarial support to Faculty level committees;

  • Prepare/Compile reports and assist in academic programme accreditation matters

  • Coordinate/ Organize Faculty wide activities such as conferences and seminars;

  • Oversee the day to day operation of the Faculty, including supervising the administrative staff of the Faculty/Departments in providing professional administrative support on office operations and academic programme related matters

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Faculty Dean or his designate

Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at the relevant track

Library Officer (Technical Services)

Description:

  • Coordinate the administration and configuration of various Library Systems and the related services, such as Alma, Primo, EZproxy, user records import, etc.

  • Coordinate the Collection Development of the Library, including acquisition and subscription management, donation and book crossing services, etc.

  • Assist the Librarian in liaising with external vendors for subscription management

  • Assist the Librarian in liaising with internal and external parties for receiving, examining and assessing gifts and donations

  • Coordinate the Bibliographic Metadata Services of the Library, including cataloguing coordination, bibliographic control, etc.

  • Attend counter duties during evening and weekend shifts for providing lending services, information searching, answering enquiries, etc.

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the College-wide activities

  • Any other duties as assigned

Job Requirement:

  • A recognized university degree in Library science, information management or related disciplines or above

  • Working knowledge of using acquisition and resource management module of Alma will be advantageous

  • Knowledge and experience in administrating library management systems would be advantageous

  • Good analytical skill, ability to troubleshoot, identify the cause and implement solutions

  • Good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) 

  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently

  • Post-qualification working experience in academic libraries is preferred

Senior Operations Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational best practices, aiming for high availability and scalability.

  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure deployment and operation of new applications and systems.

  • Drive continuous improvement in system reliability and performance.

  • System Administration: Manage and optimize MySQL databases; configure and maintain Redis cluster.

  • AI Support: Collaborate on AI project infrastructure, ensuring efficient model deployment and operation.

  • Project Management: Lead operational projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and successful delivery.

  • System and Network Monitoring: Develop, maintain, and regularly upgrade monitoring solutions to ensure optimal system performance and network stability.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in system administration, network operations, or software engineering.

  • Strong background in Linux/Unix administration.

  • Proven experience managing MySQL databases and Redis.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting AI projects, including the deployment and maintenance of AI models.

  • Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with AI tools, machine learning frameworks, and deployment strategies.

  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required).

  • A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, PyTorch ).

  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
