Established in 1979, Chung Ying Theatre Company (CYTC) is a reputed theatre organization financially supported by the Government of the HKSAR and a Venue Partner of Kwai Tsing Theatre, dedicating to promote dramatic arts and develop educational and outreach programmes. Senior Education and Outreach Manager/ Education and Outreach Manager
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director and Artistic Director, Head of Education and Outreach takes a leading role in strategic in all areas of work undertaken by the Department of Education and Outreach. Specifically he/she will perform the following duties:
Key responsibilities
Conduct research and develop proposals for education and outreach related programmes and activities
Assist the Department Head in identifying and securing funding opportunities from government bodies, foundations, corporate sponsors, and other funding organizations to support the Department's development
Collaborate with the Department Head in planning and implementation of pre and post activities of school and community touring productions
Plan and deliver drama appreciation programmes for the Company's main stage productions
Serve as a co-producer of community theatre productions and activities under the guidance of the Department Head
Collaborate with other departments to plan and deliver activities aligned with the educational programmes and objectives
Work closely with the department head to lead the team, track performance and conduct employee reviews
Participate in recruitment and dismissal processes in accordance with Company policies and procedures
Act as deputy to department head in their absence, make executive decisions, hold meetings and provide accountability
Undertake any additional duties as may reasonably be required by supervisors to support the Company's objectives
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree holder or above in applied theatre, cultural management, social work, performing arts or related disciplines
At least 8 years of sound experience in applied theatre works with 5 years in management roles
Strong vision and passion in education and community arts
Self-motivated, mature, able to work under pressure
Good supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills
Salary and Benefits
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Fringe benefits include rest days, public holidays, annual leave, sick leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, medical insurance, employee’s compensation insurance and MPF.
