Associate/Assistant Professor in English Education
The Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor in English Education.
The Faculty of Education offers Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. programmes in various areas of education, with renowned scholars from China and abroad who are dedicated to the discovery, application and dissemination of new knowledge. Qualifications
Applicants should have: (a) a doctoral degree in English education, TESOL, applied linguistics or a closely related field, with a primary focus on research and teaching in these areas; (b) a track record of high-quality research related to English education, as evidenced in publications in SSCI, SCI, or A&HCI indexed journals; (c) a demonstrated ability to teach in English teacher education programmes and contribute to programme development and enhancement.
Applicants for Associate Professor should, in addition to the above, have a global reputation for excellence in research on English Education, with a proven record of publications in top-tier journals in TESOL and applied linguistics. To be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor, applicants should also have experience in leading English teacher education programmes at the undergraduate and/or the postgraduate level, and demonstrate quality teaching experiences at a world-renowned university, and an excellent national and international collaborative research profile in English Education.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2026 or at any time subject to the agreement of the both parties.
Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) of the University of Macau invites applications for the position of Senior Administrative Assistant/Administrative Assistant at a taxable monthly salary ranging from MOP25,380 to MOP43,240 (index 270 – 460).
Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor the daily operation of the UM Sports Facilities;
Assist in promotion and outreach for increase of usage of UM Sports Facilities;
Assist in arrangement of equipment and readiness of various facilities;
Assist in organizing sports activities and executing the improvement plans and sports-related policies.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in event management, public relations or sports related disciplines;
At least 2 years of full-time administrative work experience; candidates with 5 years or above relevant work experience may be considered for the position of Senior Administrative Assistant;
Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin); knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage;
Proficiency in Microsoft 365; knowledge in graphic design, app creation, HTML, JavaScript, Python and AI applications is an advantage;
Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills;
Self-motived, independent, well-organized, out-going, creative and good team player;
Ability of multitasking with capability of working under pressure. Willing to work overtime and flexible hours.

Administrative Officer for the Student Counselling Section
The Student Counselling Section of the Student Affairs Office (SAO-SCS) of the University of Macau invites applicants for the position of Administrative Officer at a taxable monthly salary ranging from MOP41,360 – MOP52,640 (index 440 – 560).
Responsibilities:
Provide case management and support services to students with special needs;
Respond to student-related emergencies and critical incidents both on and off campus;
Coordinate and promote student wellbeing and community engagement initiatives, including scam prevention campaigns;
Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution among students, and between students and other stakeholders;
Assist in planning and delivering outreach, training, and development programmes for students;
Support the operations of the Psychological Counselling Centre and social work services in Residential Colleges.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Work or a related discipline;
Registered Social Worker, or holder of Social Work Professional Accreditation in Macau SAR;
At least 6 years of full-time relevant experience; experience in student affairs or higher education is preferred;
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin);
Demonstrated experience or qualifications in counselling, mediation, student development, outreach, or training;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a student-centered approach;
Willingness and ability to commute and work between Macau and Hengqin as required.
