Administrative Assistant, Academic Registry

The appointee is expected to provide administrative support to the Academic Affairs Section and the Undergraduate Studies Section. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to study programme administration, course registration, class timetabling, examination arrangement; 

  • Process various kinds of student applications such as academic transcripts, testimonials, change of study programmes; 

  • Coordinate University events, e.g. Commencement, new student enrolment;

  • Liaise with internal and external parties; 

  • Handle student enquiries and complaints; and 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • A completed secondary education or specialised vocational training or above with at least two years of work experience; 

  • Organised, able to work independently, possess good communication and interpersonal skills; and 

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test. 

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Assistant Executive Officer, Office of the Dean of Business

The External Relations Section (ERS) is seeking a proactive candidate for the position of Assistant Executive Officer. The successful applicant will be involved mainly in promotion and publicity activities across official social and digital channels, support school events, and assist with the operational administration of the Section.

Responsibilities:

(a) Prepare and edit social feed and website news, posting schedule and figure reporting;

(b) Conduct social campaigns with administration;

(c) Support administration for purchasing and expense, meeting minutes and section calendar;

(d) Support event logistics and answer enquiries from stakeholders and vendors; and

(e) Perform other duties as assigned by the Section Manager or his/her delegates.

Requirements:

(a) Have a recognised university degree preferably in any subject in translation, communications, marketing, or related disciplines;

(b) Minimum of two years of solid experience in marketing and public relations. Preference will be given to those who worked in the tertiary education sector or sizable organisations;

(c) Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including fluency in Cantonese;

(d) Be familiar with social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, WeChat and Xiaohongshu;

(e) Have experience in designing visuals using design softwares such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, as highly preferred; and

(f) Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.

Senior Accounting Officer, School of Continuing Education

The appointee will work in the Accounts and Purchasing Section of the School and assist to perform the following major duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in accounting relating functions such as income collection, procurement, payment and system projects;

  • Implement system enhancements and perform users’ acceptance testing;

  • Assist in annual budgeting and other management reporting;

  • Work closely with user divisions relating to accounting work; 

  • Review work procedures / work system and ensure compliance with the University’s financial rules and regulations in the accounting functions; and

  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or related disciplines with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, preferably gained from sizable companies;

  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

  • Relevant experience in income collection functions, experience in electronic and mobile payment processing is desirable;

  • Good analytical skills and PC application including Word and advanced level in Excel is desirable;

  • A good analytical mind and strong numerical sense; and

  • Good initiative, great sense of commitment and a good team player.
