Student Development Manager / Assistant Student Development Manager (Scholarship & Financial Aid)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration of various scholarship and financial assistance schemes, including the promotion of opportunities, management of applications and enquiries, and coordination of the selection and nomination processes;

  • Collaborate and liaise with stakeholders, including internal departments, donors, government offices and students;

  • Provide secretarial support to committees such as the University Scholarship Committee, including the preparation of reports/papers and follow-up actions; 

  • Increase accuracy and efficiency in the preparation of various reports/statistics through system enhancements;

  • Enhance students’ learning experience from application to interview, including preparing reports/letters to donors, by organising events related to donor appreciation and student coaching activities;

  • Formulate plans and strategies to reinforce the promotion of opportunities and broadcast scholastic achievements;

  • Staff management and supervision and;

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and the Director of Student Affairs.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of relevant work experience. Previous work experience in tertiary institutions would be an advantage;

  • Good interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail;

  • A high level of self-motivation and the ability to multitask and work effectively both as a team player and independently to meet tight schedules; and

  • An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua).

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Assistant Programme Officer, School of Continuing Education

The appointee will be responsible for providing operational and administrative assistance to the academic/teaching-related matters at the College of International Education (CIE)at the Shatin Shek Mun Campus. Major duties are composed of but not limited to: a) providing general clerical and secretarial support; b) providing administrative assistance to the programme operation, such as venue and material arrangement of learning activities; c) providing on-site and logistic support to student development activities, outreach activities, and the College’s functions; and d) running and coordinating programme activities, including internship work, site visit, and study tour.

Requirements:

  • (i) Holder of Associate Degree / Higher Diploma with at least one year of work experience; OR (ii) Possession of HKCEE 5 passes including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) and Chinese Language (at least Level 2 from 2007), or at least 5 subjects attaining Level 2 in HKDSE including English Language and Chinese Language, or Yi Jin graduates, with more work experience; holder of Bachelor's degree preferred;

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua);

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently; and

  • Proficiency in computer applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing).

The initial appointment for the above post will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
