Hong Kong, China Mountaineering and Climbing Union Limited, established in 1984, is the regional representative organization to promote five mountain sport disciplines - sport climbing, rock climbing, mountain craft, snow and ice climbing, and rope technique in Hong Kong.

Senior Sports Executive

Monthly Salary: HK$46,007

Duties:

  • Manage all activities of the office of HKCMCU, including supervision and management of clerical staff;

  • Maintain proper administration of the office of HKCMCU;

  • Act as Secretary of the Council and convene meetings of its various sub-committees and provide administrative support;

  • Prepare and submit annual budgets and program budgets to the Council;

  • Provide regular financial and activity reports to the Council;

  • Make preliminary recommendations and execute them as well as other policies effectively once approved by the Council;

  • Implement policies as laid down by the Council.

  • Take charge of the accounting matters of HKCMCU

  • Liaise with various Government departments, National Sports Associations, media, sponsors and other related parties for matters concerning programmes administered by the Secretariat.

  • Ensure timely reporting and conscientious compliance with terms of LCSD, HKSI and SF&OC Subvention Agreement;

  • Develop additional and explore sources of funding for HKCMCU including seeking sponsorships and grants from the commercial sector;

  • Apply necessary funding to support the development of HKCMCU;

  • Promote development of the sport discipline with sound media coverage;

  • Plan and supervise the training and competitions / programmes including venue bookings, recruitment of referees and volunteers, and handle complaints.

  • Work flexibility and out of office hour to suit for the preparation and launch of major events/functions of the Union.

  • Oversee the administration of local and international programmes

  • Assist the Squad Head Coach and ensure that the national teams receives the best preparations for major championships;

  • Accompany Hong Kong, China Teams for International, National, Interport and other programmes whenever required.

  • Perform any ad hoc duties assigned by management.

Qualification and Requirement:

  • An accredited Associate Degree from a Hong Kong tertiary institution / a Higher Diploma from a polytechnic university or polytechnic in Hong Kong or Hong Kong Institution of Vocational Educational or equivalent (Sports / PE / Recreation/ Human Resources subject studied is an advantage);

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in sports-related fields, at least 2 years in managerial role;

  • Good computer skills, ability to maintain website editing;

  • Experienced in budgeting, cost control and resources allocation;

  • Able to work independently and under pressure;

  • A team player with excellent communication skills;

  • Aggressive, self-motivated & outgoing;

  • Good knowledge of the operation of National Sports Association(NSA);

  • Good PC skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, Chinese word processing, PowerPoint, Outlook etc);

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, Putonghua is preferred; and

  • Overseas, overtime and irregular working hours required.

Salary & Benefits:

  • This post is subvented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department with a minimum salary of HK$46,007 per month.

  • Fringe benefits include Mandatory Provident Fund, Medical Insurance and Annual Leave.
