Visitor Experience Associate

Full time: 8 hours per day, with one hour of paid lunch. Work five days a week, with one working day being on the weekend.

Part time: Fixed weekend shifts or flexible weekday shifts

LOCATION: Sai Wan Ho

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Visitor Experience Associate has a unique job of using their hospitality skills while also liking to interact with children. They are the front-line “face” of the museum. Museum visitors are families with children and groups, either from schools or NGOs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide guest services which may include ticketing, answering questions, leading welcome greetings and closing goodbyes
Facilitate educational programs and workshops, as well as to run events such as birthday parties, outreach, etc.
Support daily operational needs
Reset and tidy exhibits between use and assist in cleaning between sessions

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience working with children and families. Teaching qualification is a plus
Outgoing and dynamic personality
University degree, preference in related discipline such as child development, education, theatre, arts, science, and hospitality
Existing expertise in content (science, arts, storytelling, etc.) is not necessary but ideal candidates will be curious and willing to learn. Candidates are encouraged to share their own skills and backgrounds to help shape museum programs
Embraces unstructured play and has a passion for lifelong learning
Strong verbal and written communication skills (Biliterate in Chinese and English. Bilingual in Cantonese and English. Mandarin is a plus)
Ability to represent CDM in a friendly and welcoming manner. Can quickly, calmly, and professionally problem solve situations that arise
Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Flexible schedule, which will include weekends
Interest and willingness to work in a startup environment
